Glossary of Terms

Company Status
The state of the license at a particular time.

Active: Company licensed to transact business.

Agree Not To Write: Company has agreed not to write new business, but is still allowed to support previously written business.

Contingent: The status of a company where additional information is needed to re-activate the license.

Denial: The Department of Insurance has determined that the license shall not be activated at this time.

Pending: Status automatically assigned to a new license that has not been activated.

Revoked: Company lost its licensing privileges.

Temporary: Sole proprietary company not required to obtain a permanent agency license. Only Bail Bond companies will have this status assign.
