Administrative Fee Acknowledgment
TO: All Resident and Nonresident Unlimited Lines Producers Licensed in the State of South Carolina FROM: South Carolina Department of Insurance Agent Licensing Division DATE: March 18, 2003 SUBJECT: $35.00 Administrative Fee Acknowledgment
The purpose of this memorandum is to advise South Carolina resident and nonresident licensed unlimited lines producers of two ways they can verify the Department’s receipt of the $35.00 administrative fee. They can either (A) obtain a copy of the producer’s or agency’s canceled check, and confirm the Department’s endorsement, or (B) check the Department’s website (www.doi.sc.gov). To verify payment by viewing the Department’s website, please follow the steps below:
On the Department’s home page under Quick Links, click on Search SCDOI Database.
Click on the Search For Individuals link. After you type in the first and last name of the producer, click “Search.”
You should now be at the Individual License Search Results screen. Move the cursor to the producer’s name and click.
You should now be at the Individual Demographics and license information screen. Scroll down near the bottom of the page under the heading Assessment Fee Information. Under this heading, the question "Producer Assessment Fee Due ?" is asked. If the response is "No," this means the Department has received the $35.00 administrative fee. If the response is “Yes,” then payment has not been posted to the Department’s system.
Please note that if one payment is accompanied by two or more Personal Information Data Sheets, the system may take a week or more before acknowledging that the producer’s $35.00 administrative fee payment has been received. If the producer cannot verify through a search of the Department’s website that the $35 fee has been paid, the canceled check will acknowledge that the producer’s payment has been received, and the license will continue in force.
