Bondsmen Renewal Application Terms and Instructions   SCDOI Connect Login

This is an online bondsmen license renewal application designed to accelerate the Individual renewal process for licenses of the following types: Professional, Surety, and Runner Bondsmen. This application is for Bondsmen renewals only; it is not to be used for license renewals or reinstatements of suspended or revoked licenses. It also cannot be used to reapply for a license that was previously denied.

Please carefully read the terms of use and instructions given below. You must agree that you have read, understood, and agreed to all terms, conditions, and fees before continuing with the renewal license application process.

 Use Agreement

THIS IS A LEGAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN YOU ("USER") AND THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF INSURANCE (referred to as "SCDOI" herein).  BY CLICKING ON THE AGREE BUTTON OR USING THE SERVICES PROVIDED HEREIN, USER IS CONSENTING TO BE BOUND BY AND IS BECOMING A PARTY TO ALL OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THIS AGREEMENT. PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE AGREEMENT CAREFULLY BEFORE ACCEPTING ITS TERMS.


 I. Description of Services

The State of South Carolina Department of Insurance allows for the electronic renewal of Surety, Professional, and Runner Bondsmen via "SCDOI CONNECT" and allows USER to pay renewal fees to SCDOI via electronic check.  SCDOI CONNECT is for personal and non-commercial use only.  Please note that those bondsmne who failed to comply with South Carolina continuing education requirements are not reflected on the renewal list.   These individuals will be automatically cancelled on July 1st.


 II. User's Obligations

a.  USER shall be the licensed Bondsmen whose name appears on the Bondman's Renewal list or other authorized representative of the Bondsman's on whose behalf the Renewal is filed.

b.  USER acknowledges SCDOI reserves the right not to process a Renewal until it has received the applicable State Insurance Department Renewal fees.

c.  Upon submitting the Renewal to SCDOI with the applicable renewal fees, USER shall take no action that interferes with SCDOI's ability to collect said fees.  USER AGREES THAT ALL STATE INSURANCE DEPARTMENT RENEWAL FEES ARE NONREFUNDABLE AND THE SPONSORING BONDSMAN IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYMENT OF ALL RENEWAL FEES

d.  USER'S failure to submit/Complete the Bondsman Renewal List by 11:59 P.M. EST June, 30th may result in a cancellation of all licenses and surety appointments (if applicable).

e.  USER shall use "SCDOI CONNECT" for personal and non-commercial use only.  Except as otherwise specified herein, USER shall not modify, copy, transmit, display, reproduce, publish, license, create derivative works from, transfer, sell or otherwise distribute any information, software, products, or services obtained from SCDOI CONNECT.  USER shall not decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of any information or products obtained from "SCDOI CONNECT". USER may copy, distribute, and transmit the Bondsman Renewal Summary to its officers, directors, principals, partners, agents, consultants, contractors, employees, majority-owned subsidiaries and affiliates for internal use.  USER may copy, distribute and transmit the Bondsman Renewal Summary to federal and state government officials for purposes of compliance with federal and state laws.

f.  USER shall not use "SCDOI CONNECT" to publish, post, upload, transmit, distribute or disseminate any inappropriate, profane, defamatory, obscene, indecent or unlawful material or information.

 III. Limitation of Liability

Under no circumstances, including, but not limited to, negligence, shall SCDOI be liable for any special or consequential damages that result from the use of, or the inability to use, the materials in this site, even if SCDOI authorized representative has been advised of the possibility of such damages.  Applicable law may not allow the limitation or exclusion of liability or incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.  In no event shall SCDOI's total liability to you for all damages, losses, and causes of action (whether in contract, tort, including but not limited to, negligence, or otherwise) exceed the amount paid by you, if any, for accessing this site.


 IV. Title

SCDOI retains all rights of title in SCDOI CONNECT and in the sources, development and licensing or other disposal of SCDOI CONNECT and enhancements and updates thereto, including its presentation format.  It is expressly understood that USER does not obtain any rights in SCDOI CONNECT service furnished by SCDOI except as expressly provided in this Agreement. This is not a contract of sale, and USER obtains no rights under Section 109 of the Copyright Act of 1976.  It is recognized that SCDOI CONNECT is the exclusive property of SCDOI, and USER agrees to take no action adverse to such rights of SCDOI as owner of SCDOI CONNECT and as sole copyright proprietor.


 V. Jurisdictional Issues

This SCDOI CONNECT is controlled and operated by the SCDOI within THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA, United States of America.  The SCDOI makes no representation that SCDOI CONNECT is appropriate or available for use in other locations. Those who choose to access this site from other locations do so on their own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws, if and to the extent local laws are applicable.  Software from this site is further subject to United States export controls.  No software from this site may be downloaded or otherwise exported or reexported: (1) to any territory outside the United States and its territories; or (2) to anyone on the United States Treasury Department's list of Specially Designated Nationals or the United States Commerce Department's Table of Deny Orders.  By downloading or using the Software, you represent and warrant that you are not located in, under the control of, or a national or resident of any such country and are not on any such list.


 VI. Denial of Future Services

USER agrees SCDOI may deny USER access to SCODI CONNECT with regard to future transactions in the event USER breaches the terms of this Use Agreement.


 VII. Other

This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law.  If any provision of this agreement shall be unlawful, void, or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed severable from this agreement and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.  This is the entire agreement between the parties relating to the subject matter herein and shall not be modified except in writing, signed by both parties.
